COVID-19: Jyotiraditya Scindia, His Mother Test Positive For Coronavirus

NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jyotiraditya Scindia and his mother, Madhavi Raje Scindia, have been admitted to Max Super Specialty hospital in South Delhi’s Max Hospital in Saket after they complained of COVID-19 symptoms. The news comes just days ahead of the Rajya Sabha bypolls in Madhya Pradesh for which Scindia is in the fray.

Scindia and his mother were admitted to the hospital on June 8 after they complained of sore throat and fever. Their COVID test results are awaited.

Although both of them were tested corona yesterday, their test report on Tuesday confirmed both to be corona positive. The source of his corona infection is yet to be ascertained.

It may be noted that yesterday Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal too had complained of COVID-19 symptoms on June 8 after which he had gone into quarantine. His COVID-19 test will be conducted today, according to reports.

Similarly, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra had also shown symptoms of coronavirus and was admitted to the Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon. Sambit Patra was discharged on Monday.

In fact, in recent weeks, a number of senior politicians have tested positive for COVID-19. This includes Maharashtra state minister Ashok Chavan and Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha.
