Get Metro: Last Light Redux and more for free with Epic Games now

Epic Games is regularly giving away different games in its store for everyone's favourite price - free. This time, it's the turn of Metro: Last Light Redux and For the King.

Metro: Last Light Redux is currently free to add to your library until 11 February. Normally costing £14.99/$19.99 the game is now entirely cost-free which is obviously a bargain.

Originally released in 2015, this Redux version of Metro: Last Light was designed to be a remastered version of the original game designed for the next generation of gaming machines of the time. As such it was overhauled with improved visuals while still being able to run at 60FPS.

This is not the first time Epic Games has given away a Metro game for free. Last year, the company was giving away Metro 2033, so it's plausible we'll see more in future. The fact this is the Redux version of the newer game makes it even more appealing.

Metro: Last Light is the second game in the franchise, with Metro 2033 being the first and Metro Exodus being the latest outing. Loosely based on Dmitry Glukhovsky's novels, these games are a wonderful exploration of a post-apocalyptic world with mutant beasts, psychological experiences and harsh environments to survive.

Last Light nicely continues the story while also offering different ways to play.  You can choose from either "Spartan" or "Survival" modes. These let you either play the main campaign as a slow burn Survival Horror or go guns blazing as a Spartan Ranger.

So if you haven't given it a go, now might well be the time as it certainly won't be free forever. To get it, all you need to do is to log in to your account and click to grab the game from the store. Then it'll be added to your account to keep forever.

For the King is also free at the moment alongside a number of other great games
