Peacock will debut My Son on its platform on September 15. It will remain on the NBCUniversal platform before it moves to Roku on December 15 in the United States. STX Chairman Adam Fogelson spoke on the deal, admiring that it increases the value for the three companies involved in the deal. Fogelson also insists that the companies are not the only ones to benefit from the deal. Instead, it is a benefit for movie fans, who now have the chance to stream My Son on whichever platform they prefer.

STX is not unfamiliar with producing a high-stakes thriller, as it has given movie fans films including The Irishman, Molly's Game, 21 Bridges, The Gift, The Boy, and countless others. Roku's VP of programming, Rob Holmes, is happy that the platform is able to deliver on its goal of bringing exciting entertainment to viewers in a "free, ad-supported environment." Holmes looks forward to the partnership STXfilms and Roku have forged, hoping to deliver more of STX's content to Roku in the near future.

My Son is a remake of Christian Carion's French version of the film. Carion serves as the writer and director of the English version of the film starring James McAvoy and Claire Foy. The film will follow Edmond Murrary (McAvoy) after he receives a distressing call from his ex-wife, revealing that their 7-year-old son has gone missing. For the making of this film, McAvoy was never given a script for the thriller. Instead, he uncovered the mystery of the film along with movie viewers, improvising his lines and performance.

McAvoy, who stunned viewers as the many complex personalities of Dennis in the 2016 thiller Split, will make My Son an interesting film to behold. Relying on his own instincts to get through the film, McAvoy is guaranteed to deliver a performance that will generate a bit of buzz. Starring alongside Foy, who has received critical acclaim for her performance as Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix's The Crown, this STX production will thrill movie fanatics in more ways than one.

My Son will be released on Peacock on September 15, 2021, before heading to Roku on December 15, 2021.
