Pokémon BDSP: How to Get Lucky Egg (& What It’s For)

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have an abundance of items that can be held by Pokémon, including Lucky Eggs. Giving a Lucky Egg to any Pokémon will increase the amount of experience they earn and help them level up faster. This can be especially useful for easily evolving multiple Pokémon and maxing out their levels in order to take on some of the tougher challenges in the game, such as the Elite Four or Team Galactic's leader.

Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have rare Pokémon and items that make the games more interesting. Players looking for more to do can work on collecting every Pokémon and item in the game. Obtaining Lucky Eggs can help with quickly filling out the National Pokédex by leveling and evolving Pokémon with more experience per battle, but finding the Lucky Eggs can be difficult if players don't know where to look or want more than one.

Players can obtain multiple Lucky Eggs in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and they are not consumed when used. If a Pokémon reaches its max level, players can remove the item and give it to a different member of their party. With some effort, players can also obtain enough to have every Pokémon in their party holding a Lucky Egg and maximize the experience gained in each battle.

There are two ways to obtain Lucky Eggs in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The easiest method for getting a Lucky Egg is by visiting Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl's Grand Underground and going to the Icy Cave. This area is reached by heading to the northwestern corner in the Grand Underground, which can be entered through Acuity Lakefront using an Explorer's Kit. The Lucky Egg will be near the edge of the lake in a PokéBall on the ground. This will award players one Lucky Egg. However, if players are looking to grab more than one, they will need to catch Chanseys.

Chanseys can spawn along Routes 209 and 210 and they have a small chance to be holding a Lucky Egg. Players will need to catch and check each Chansey they encounter to farm for Lucky Eggs. Players can use Quick Balls at the start of an encounter to quickly obtain a lot of Chanseys or they can drain the Pokémon's health, then use any type of PokéBall to catch it. Once it's caught, players can check to see if it's holding a Lucky Egg, then remove it and give it to any Pokémon they want.

Lucky Eggs are valuable items that can help players level up their Pokémon faster. Defeating tougher opponents in Briliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, like Volkner or Cyrus, will require a powerful team, and using Lucky Eggs can help players achieve this sooner. There's one Lucky Egg in the Grand Underground, and any additional eggs need to be taken from caught Chanseys. Players can find, use, and reuse multiple Lucky Eggs in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
