90 Day Fiancé: Why Sojaboy Usman's Ex-Wife Lisa Is A Secret On B90
As 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days deep dives into Usman Umar AKA Sojaboy’s relationship with potential girlfriend Kim, fans are puzzled as to why the identity of his ex-wife Lisa "Babygirl" Hamme is being erased. For now, Usman is unsure about whether the 50-year-old Kimberly is worthy of filling his first wife’s shoes, even though she’s proved she’s loyal in many ways. Kim is openly allowing Usman to have multiple wives if he wants to have kids. A bigger challenge for Kim will be avoiding becoming an obstacle between Usman and his flourishing music career in the U.S. After all, the root of the marriage problems and divorce drama between Usman and Lisa was the fact that she was jealous of his female fans.
Hospice caregiver Lisa was 50, with a 15-year-old daughter. She'd been divorced for four years when Usman, 30, contacted her on Facebook Messenger. He then proved he was real by video-calling her. “Nigerians are known for scamming but Usman looked very trustworthy,” she said. Within a month, Lisa and Usman were chatting “sensuously” on video calls. Nine months later, he proposed to her and two years later, Lisa flew to Nigeria to meet the “celebrity” Usman. He'd written a song for his baby girl on Valentine’s Day. However, things didn’t quite go as planned after Lisa and Usman met, as the American woman complained about everything from his career to his culture. Amid resistance from Usman’s family, the pair married in the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days finale.
However, fans soon learned that Lisa and Usman had split in May 2020, and had been estranged for months prior to that. Lisa claimed that Sojaboy had used her to be on a TV show, with a mind to promoting his music, and she claimed that he was a cheater. Meanwhile, Usman alleged that he had only agreed to marry Lisa because she threatened to commit suicide if they broke up. During the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 4 Tell-All, Sojaboy revealed that Lisa had used racial slurs against him. Some ten-odd hours worth of Tell-All footage was leaked online. In the clips, Usman accused his ex-wife of using the racial slur one week before the reunion episode was filmed. “Lisa, last week you called me ni**er which I know is totally inappropriate in America. You called me ni**er, I don’t even get angry about it because I am used to how you are behaving,” he revealed.
Meanwhile, Lisa never denied using that slur but did apologize, until Usman further claimed she’d used the word on more than one occasion. The segment was cut from the final Tell-All that aired on TLC. However, by June 2020, numerous sources reported that the network fired Lisa over her use of racial slurs, and because of significant backlash from the viewers on social media. Lisa’s time on B90 Strikes Back was seemingly cut short. However, Lisa supposedly denied that TLC had given her the ax.
Lisa not being a part of the ongoing 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, storyline featuring Usman and Kim says a lot. Her name is not even being mentioned during the segments, and a flashback scene of Usman and Lisa getting married only showed her hand. Meanwhile, fans are glad that Lisa is gone, but some are also confused about why Angela Deem is still allowed to be a part of the franchise and its multiple spinoffs. Fans have signed petitions for Angela's cancellation due to her abusive treatment of Michael on TV. While that’s a call for TLC to take, Lisa seems to be happy in her new married life with a man named Tracey Robinson, while Usman pursues a new romance with his Kimberly Dawn.
