The Drac Pack discuss the human Johnny's new look as a monster in Screen Rant's exclusive Hotel Transylvania: Transformania clip. The fourth and final installment in the hit animated comedy franchise will see Dracula and his monster friends transformed into humans by Van Helsing's mysterious "Monsterfication Ray" while his son-in-law Johnny is transformed into a monster. Drac, his friends and family must find a way to reverse the effects of the transformation ray before they become humans forever.
Andy Samberg and Selena Gomez return to lead the cast of Hotel Transylvania: Transformania alongside returning stars Kathryn Hahn, Jim Gaffigan, Steve Buscemi, Keegan-Michael Key, David Spade, Molly Shannon and Fran Drescher. The film will also feature a number of franchise newcomers, including Brian Hull taking over the role of Dracula from Adam Sandler and Brad Abrell taking over the role of Frankenstein from Kevin James. After initially being set for an October 2021 release, Sony sold the rights to Hotel Transylvania: Transformania off to Amazon Studios for $100 million due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and is gearing up to hit the streaming platform this month.
In anticipation of the film's release, Screen Rant has an exclusive Hotel Transylvania: Transformation clip. The video sees Invisible Man Griffin, Wolfman Wayne, Murray the Mummy and Frankenstein discussing Johnny's new change into a monster. Check out the exclusive clip below:
The exclusive Hotel Transylvania: Transformania clip offers some interesting insight into the story of the final installment in the franchise, namely in how the various monsters will transform into humans. As evidenced by the official synopsis for the film, this will stem from Van Helsing's mysterious invention and will affect all of audiences' favorite monsters, though the new footage seems to point towards the rest of the group being affected at a different point in the story than that of Dracula and Johnny. These transformations have been previously glimpsed in both the Hotel Transylvania: Transformania trailer and poster, the latter of which offered side-by-side comparisons of their contrasting designs.
Additionally, the Hotel Transylvania: Transformania clip features the first proper footage of Brad Abrell's voice work as Frankenstein in the film, having taken over the part from frequent Adam Sandler collaborator Kevin James. Sandler also departed the project in early 2021, though his reasons for doing so are unknown, leaving many to wonder how the duo's replacements will hold up in their place for the final chapter of the franchise. Only time will tell how audiences respond when Hotel Transylvania: Transformania hits Amazon Prime Video on January 14.
