Pokémon Arceus Player's Naruto-Inspired Character is Incredibly Accurate

A fan of both Pokémon Legends: Arceus and the Naruto anime series has merged the two properties by creating a surprisingly accurate custom character. While character customization options are rudimentary in this latest Pokémon game, there is an assortment of cosmetics and outfits for characters to discover that allows for some more complex personalization opportunities.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is the most recent entry in the best-selling Pokémon franchise, and also the most unique take on the formula in years. After crafting their characters, players are thrust into the region of Hisui and tasked with capturing and battling Pokémon, just like in all the other games in the series. However, the twist comes in the form of the game's vast open world and real-time mechanics; rather than entering a separate battle zone during each encounter, players will fight Pokémon out in the wilderness without the need for any loading screens. This new freedom expands beyond just battles, as players can uncover secrets, unlockables, and collectibles throughout their journey.

One player has made use of Pokémon Legends: Arceus's more robust customization offerings to create a character that looks a lot like the titular hero of Naruto. A Reddit post from user FrottleTheGreat shows a screenshot of this character, who is donning an orange kimono and a headband. Behind the headband is a shock of blonde hair. All of these details come together to create a character that greatly resembles Naruto. FrottleTheGreat even had their character pose next to the mystical fox-like Pokémon Ninetails, which is a reference to the Nine-Tailed beast Kurama that lives within Naruto. The title of the post is "I'm gonna be the next Pokekage, believe it!," which is another clever homage, this time referencing Naruto's goals and catchphrase.

Fans of any of the Naruto shows will likely instantly recognize this custom character, as FrottleTheGreat did quite an impressive job crafting him. The combination of the hair, headband, and orange outfit recall the teenage ninja's simple yet memorable design. Of course, pairing this avatar with the Ninetails Pokémon is just the icing on the cake.

It will certainly be interesting to see what other custom characters might appear in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The game is already shaping up to be one of the more influential and impactful games in the franchise, and the sharing of custom avatars could help bolster its longevity. One thing is for sure, though: Naruto fans will have a tough time making a more accurate in-game tribute than FrottleTheGreat's.
