How Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 Could Crossover With Kenobi

Under the purview of Disney, Star Wars continues to explore a myriad of different eras while interconnecting its many stories, and with both Jedi: Fallen Order 2 and Obi-Wan Kenobi taking place during the rise of the Galactic Empire, it's possible that there will be a crossover. The first Fallen Order, developed by Respawn Entertainment, stars Jedi Padawan (now Knight) Cal Kestis as he retraces the path of deceased Jedi Master Eno Cordova, who stored information on Force-sensitive children in a holocron. While very little is known about the sequel, it's not impossible for Kenobi to have a reference to Cal and his exploits or vice versa.

Jedi: Fallen Order's droid companion, BD-1, was already the subject of a nod in The Book of Boba Fett, albeit tenuously. A BD droid is the newest member of Peli Motto's starship repair crew at her hangar in Mos Eisley. There's no indication that this was BD-1, and it's likely just another droid of the same model, but this is the type of crossover one might expect to find in Obi-Wan KenobiFallen Order takes place five years after Order 66, and Kenobi another five after that, when young Luke Skywalker is roughly 10 years old. Cal's adventure thus far hasn't taken him to Tatooine, and while Obi-Wan could certainly leave the backwater desert planet during the limited series, it seems unlikely that he'll run into any of Fallen Order's cast.

The most likely Fallen Order 2 and Obi-Wan Kenobi crossover would be through the Imperial Inquisitors. There are currently 10 Inquisitors in Star Wars canon, tasked with hunting down those who managed to survive Order 66 and are attempting to avoid becoming victims of the Great Jedi Purge. A few are encountered in Fallen Order and the Dark Side users are confirmed to be the antagonistic force in Obi-Wan Kenobi. The teaser trailer for Kenobi appears to show scenes taking place at Fortress Inquisitorius, the Imperial Inquisitors' headquarters on Nur, a moon in the Mustafar system.

Any crossover between Fallen Order 2 and Obi-Wan Kenobi will likely just be references to each main character's survival. The Inquisitors might discuss Cal's infiltration of Fortress Inquisitorius or even talk about Cal directly when discussing Obi-Wan or other surviving Jedi. Casting in Fallen Order and Star Wars games in general has left the opportunity for Cal to appear in live action media, but giving him a role in Kenobi doesn't make much sense for the sequel's narrative, even if it is a very brief appearance. Jedi: Fallen Order 2 doesn't even have an official title or teaser trailer, let alone a release window. The story for the next chapter in Cal's adventure with BD-1, Cere Junda, Greez Dritus, and Merrin is likely still under wraps, and showing any of those characters in Kenobi could ruin the anticipation.

Fallen Order 2 referencing Kenobi whenever it happens to launch is far more likely. Since Cal will still be hunted by Inquisitors during the sequel, it's not hard to imagine the game making reference to a Jedi who hid on Tatooine. With Cere's Jedi history before Fallen Order's events, it's possible she knows of Obi-Wan, but only a select few were privy to his exile on Tatooine. Unfortunately, with the Star Wars games still largely separate from the shows and movies, there probably won't be significant crossover between Jedi: Fallen Order 2 and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The two projects have been in development concurrently, and there doesn't seem to be enough room in Obi-Wan's timeline for a meeting with Cal and company.
