Ti West's X: Where You've Seen The Cast Before | Screen Rant

Ti West's X is the latest of A24's horror film releases, following a young group of filmmakers in 1979 who rent a house in rural Texas to shoot their adult movie, Farmer's Daughter. When the elderly residents of the house discover the nature of the movie, the crew must fight to survive their stay.

West, director of The House of the Devil and V/H/S, is known for his suspense-driven films and X is sure to be no different. The ensemble cast is made up of well-known actors with experience in various horror genres.

Cast as Sheriff Dentler, James Gaylyn has years of character work under his belt, starring in roles such as Bridge to Terabithia alongside AnnaSophia Rob and Josh Hutcherson as well as portraying an OP Center Staff member in James Cameron's Avatar.

Gaylyn has lent his voice to several characters in the Power Rangers universe, including Zeltrax and Colonel Mason Truman. In his latest role for the Hulu original, No Exit, Gaylyn plays Dr. Bill, a psychiatrist in a rehab center.

Australian actor Stephen Ure is no stranger to fantasy and horror, having starred in both The Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit franchises as Grishnakh and Fimbul respectively. Ure joins the cast of as Howard, one of the eerie homeowners who discovers what the film crew is shooting.

In 2015, Ure starred in Deathgasm as Rikki Daggers, a death metal rocker whose sheet music unleashes a demonic entity called Aeloth. Ure later joined Ash vs Evil Dead as recurring character "drunk" in 2016 alongside Bruce Campbell.

Credited as RJ, Owen Campbell adds the '70s-influenced horror movie X to his resume. Known for his captivating roles in the indie films As You Are with Charlie Heaton and The Miseducation of Cameron Post alongside Chloë Grace Moretz, Campbell brings a quiet depth to each of his characters. Campbell's guest spots in Boardwalk Empire and The Americans put him on the map, leading to horror roles such as portraying Alex in Depraved.

More commonly known as Kid Cudi, Grammy Award winner, Scott Mescudi, has quickly made a name for himself in the acting world, most recently starring in Netlfix's Don't Look Up with Ariana Grande. Mescudi made his acting debut in an episode of One Tree Hill and continued to cameo in popular shows such as Brooklyn Nine-Nine before making the transition to film with Need For Speed. Mescudi's guest spots in Creepshow and Westworld made his role as Jackson in X the obvious next step.

Best known in the horror world for his role as Noah opposite Naomi Watts in The Ring, the American remake of the Japanese hit Ringu, Martin Henderson joins X as Wayne. The New Zealand actor got his start in television and continued to rise through the ranks, starring in a lengthy role on Shonda Rhimes' Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Nathan Riggs. Henderson returned to the horror genre in 2018 with The Strangers: Prey at Night and now stars in the Netflix hit, Virgin River.

Despite having only been acting for nine years, Mia Goth has starred in popular films, including Emma. and A24's High Life. Goth has cemented her place in the horror industry through her hypnotizing performance in Gore Verbinski's A Cure for Wellness with Dane Dehaan. Goth holds her own among Hollywood stars such as Tilda Swinton and Dakota Johnson in Suspiria, the 2018 remake of the iconic horror film of the same name from 1977.

Brittany Snow has been a household name since her break-out role as Meg Pryor in American Dreams as well as playing Zoe Plummer in The Pacifier alongside Vin Diesel. Snow's versatility as an actor became clear through her performances in John Tucker Must Die as well as showcasing her musical abilities in Hairspray and Pitch Perfect. Snow played Donna in her first horror movie role, Prom Night, a remake of the 1980 classic starring Jamie Lee Curtis. While the movie wasn't a huge success, Snow's next horror film, Would You Rather proved to be unexpectedly fun.
