Rust: Airfield Puzzle Guide (Walkthrough & Rewards) | Screen Rant

The Airfield is an enormous Monument in Rust with plenty of open space and an underground tunnel system filled with loot. This Monument is surrounded by a large concrete wall with two entrances on each side. However, there are multiple spots where the wall has crumbled, allowing survivors to enter the Airfield from several directions. Furthermore, the zone is connected to the Underground Rail Network with an elevator in Rust, offering another means of accessing the Monument.

The Airfield's low-tier loot can be found above ground within the area's three hangars, five towers, and a two-story office building for triggering the Monument's puzzle. Here, players will discover around fifteen assorted crates, with most of the containers located in the hangars. The most optimal route to loot the over-ground zone of the Airfield is to start from the tower near the southwestern entrance. Next, players can travel in a straight line to each corner of the Monument, collecting resources along the way. However, those aiming to acquire the high-tier loot beneath the Airfield will need to procure four rare items in advance.

To complete the underground Airfield Monument puzzle in Rust, survivors must acquire a Blue Keycard, a Green Keycard, and two Electric Fuses. The Blue Keycard spawns in Tier-1 Monuments, such as the Sewer Branch, Satellite Dish, and Harbor. It can additionally be purchased from the Outpost for Scrap ×100. Green Keycards have a slight chance of being dropped by Scientists and can also be found in the Lighthouse, Oxum's Gas Station, Abandoned Supermarket, and Junkyard. Electric Fuses typically spawn within basic crates and have a sparse chance to appear as loot from a metal barrel.

While it is possible to encounter hostile players while exploring the Airfield, Rust players will undoubtedly require a weapon to fight the Scientists that guard the puzzle chambers below the Monument. Starting from the office building at the northern center of the runway, find the switch on the first floor. After activating the timer by inserting an Electric Fuse item in Rust, rush to the tunnel entrance between Hangar 2 and Hangar 3.

Descend into the underground pipes below and take the path on the left to reach the Green Keycard door. After opening the first door, walk over to the hall on the right to find another fusebox to open the nearby Blie Keycard door. Enter the primary loot room to find a host of valuable resources and materials, including a Red Keycard.
