A leaked set of Marvel's Avengers skins sees Earth's Mightiest Heroes don extremely bizarre summer swimsuits. The multiplayer Marvel title, developed by Crystal Dynamics, continues to release paid cosmetics in an attempt to support ongoing development. The failure of Marvel's Avengers can largely be attributed to the game's technical issues and lack of meaningful content, but some undeniably strange skins have also played a role in the title's downfall.
Since the game's launch back in 2020, Marvel's Avengers has largely failed to establish a stable playerbase. While the title's single-player storyline was praised for its authenticity, the multiplayer endgame is still largely devoid of engaging content. The addition of cosmetic skins based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe has also been praised by fans, but a large part of the Marvel's Avengers wardrobe is still made up of simple recolors or garish outfits. The title added a new hero recently, the Mighty Thor, but players even criticized this addition by calling Jane Foster a Thor echo clone that introduced no significant gameplay innovations.
Prolific Marvel's Avengers leaker Miller (via Twitter) recently revealed three strange swimsuit skins apparently coming to the game. While the outfits are meant to celebrate summer, the designs are quite an unusual look for the game's Marvel icons. Black Widow receives a zippered mesh top and sandals, but she would stand out at the beach thanks to her thigh holster and belt. Iron Man, meanwhile, lounges around in a golden jacket and trunks complemented by high tech sandals. Finally, Thor dons a pair of stylish sunglasses and a tight swimsuit that leaves little to the imagination. Unfortunately, Miller has not specified when Marvel's Avengers is expected to release this strange summer attire.
While Miller frequently leaks cosmetics items, the insider also recently claimed that the Winter Soldier is coming to Marvel's Avengers as the game's next playable hero. The powerful supersoldier was once Captain America's staunch sidekick Bucky Barnes before being physically enhanced and brainwashed to serve as an unstoppable assassin. While Miller failed to give definitive details about Bucky Barnes, some fans suggest that he will play similarly to Captain America. However, others claim that the Winter Soldier will be a more original playable character thanks to his large arsenal of ranged weapons.
Marvel's Avengers has added some impressive outfits in the past, taken from both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the pages of Marvel Comics. However, Miller's leaked swimsuit skins are a truly bizarre way to celebrate the year's hottest months. Themed skins would be a good way for Marvel's Avengers to expand its wardrobe throughout the year, but these leaked skins are too strange to impress anyone at the pool.
