Buffy's New Open Relationship Continues Its Problematic View of Sex

Warning: Spoilers for The Vampire Slayer #9!There are plenty of reasons to love Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but there has always been at least one recurring theme that fans have taken issue with, and it's the franchise's approach to sex. The show often seemed to tackle things of a sexual nature no differently than how stereotypical horror movies punish and kill off teens for having sexual urges, let alone acting on them. Critics in the past have accused the series' view of sex as being questionably narrow at best and problematic at worse. It's understandable to see why some audiences would come to this conclusion.
