Acer reveals AMD-powered Chromebook Spin 514 with latest Ryzen CPUs

Acer has announced a new Chromebook at CES 2021: the Spin 514, powered by AMD’s Ryzen 3000 mobile processors.
The Chromebook Spin 514 can be configured with up to 16GB of DDR4 DRAM and 256GB of storage. It features a 14-inch FHD touch display with a 78 per cent screen-to-body ratio. Acer said you can get up to 10 hours of battery life, and that it comes with two USB-C ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and a microSD card reader. Some models also come with an HDMI port.
Weighing 3.42 pounds (1.55 kg) and coming in at 0.68 inches (17.35 mm) thick, it's not exactly the most lightweight Chromebook available. But Acer is also promising “military-grade durability”, as the ChromeOS-powered laptop supposedly handles up to 132 pounds of downward force.
Chromebook Spin 514 will launch in the US in February, with a starting price of $479.99. Acer announced a Chromebook Enterprise Spin 514 model for businesses, too, which runs the enterprise version of Chrome OS. The Enterprise model launches in March and starts at $749.99.
