GTA Online: How to Unlock the Frontier Pirate Outfit
The Frontier Pirate outfit sends players on a treasure hunt in GTA Online. This outfit has been added to the game as part of the new weekly update. Along with it, players are now about to earn double the money, RP, and collect the Karin Sultan RS Classic vehicle. While the game features some high-paying jobs, this adventure is all about hunting treasure like a poor pirate.
The neat part about the Frontier Pirate outfit is that players will need to locate chests scattered around Los Santos to unlock it. Typically, new outfits and vehicles are tied to expensive purchases, or by completing missions. This time, players will need to search far and wide to collect this treasure.
The Shipwreck on the Shore event has added 30 hidden treasure chests for players to locate. It's a bit different than how to unlock the prize ride vehicle in the Diamond Casino, since players will need to hunt for it. Within each of these chests, players will find $20,000 and 2000 RP. The big catch is that only one chest can be claimed per day. Players will need to return to GTA Online the next day for a chance to find the Frontier Pirate outfit. Within each of these chests is also a piece of clothing to collect, which will eventually combine to be the Frontier Pirate outfit.
Fortunately, players only need to find 7 out of the possible 30 chests available in the game. Following the map above, created by Wildbrick142, head to any of the marked locations to find the hidden GTA Online chests. Each of them can be found relatively close to the shoreline. The best thing the player can do is hop on a boat and ride around the edges to collect them all.
After collecting all 7 pieces inside any of these treasure chests, players will now have access to the Frontier Pirate outfit. This is one of the few outfits that require additional steps, and will likely be removed once the event is over. Make sure to grab it before it's too late.
Collecting all 30 chests is a smart idea, not only because it provides players with RP and money, but it's a nice way to spend time exploring Los Santos. With the game being over 3 console generations old at this point, GTA Online continues to outgrow Grand Theft Auto, and the constant stream of new content is always appreciated.
