The Amazing Race season 33 is finally returning to the CBS lineup in early 2022. After a long hiatus of The Amazing Race thanks to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, the long-running competition series is ready to turn things up a notch. Here's everything you need to know about the cast and teams featured in season 33.

The contestants on The Amazing Race season 33 will first travel to Swiss cities Zurich and Lugano. They will then head to the French island of Corsica before traveling to Thessaloniki, Greece. Throughout the whole venture, production aimed to keep everyone safe, including not interacting with locals who were not vaccinated nor tested in advance. The show also rented its own jumbo jet, complete with The Amazing Race logo on the side so that teams wouldn't have to be around strangers while filming. This new season is bound to be the most exciting yet.

The first team consists of two teachers from New Jersey. Akbar Cook Sr. and Sheridan Cook are married and looking forward to competing.

Just like in previous seasons, there will be a team who are best friends from childhood. Anthony Sadler and Spencer Stone both hail from Sacramento.

Naturally, CBS had to cast a father-daughter duo that will capture the hearts of Amazing Race fans. Arun Kumar and Natalie Kumar hail from Detroit and are ready to fight everyone for their share of the million-dollar prize.

This season will feature a second team from the Garden State. Love Island USA star Caro Viehweg and Ray Gantt are currently dating, with Caro traveling back and forth from Los Angeles, California.

CBS also cast another married duo for season 33. Fans will meet Connie and Sam Greiner, who hail from Charlotte, North Carolina.

Kim and Penn Holderness will light up the show with their outgoing internet personalities. The couple lives in Raleigh, North Carolina.

New Jersey is truly dominating the roster this season. Marianela and Marissa Gonzalez are twin sisters who host a radio from North Bergen.

Michael Norwood and Armonde "Moe" Badger will be extremely enjoyable to watch as they are both police officers from Buffalo, New York with a passion for singing.

Raquel Moore and Cayla Platt are flight attendants. They are respectively from Chicago, Illinois and Gulf Breeze, Florida.

This will be another pair of two best friends competing on The Amazing Race. Ryan Ferguson and Dusty Harris hail from Columbia, Missouri.

Last but not least, Taylor Green-Jones and Isaiah Green-Jones will be featured on The Amazing Race as well. They are YouTube sensations from Portland, Oregon.

There is no doubt that the field of competition will be strong. But if the pairs can work together and form an alliance or two they just may win The Amazing Race season 33. Fans can tune in to watch the new season in 2022 to catch all the drama.
