Pete Davidson's Relationship History Timeline - Who Has He Dated?
Pete Davidson has been a cast member on sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live (SNL) since 2014, but it is only recently that he has begun to make headlines. This is largely due to his personal life and, most prominently, his dating history.
The comedian and actor, who has boosted his resume with several acting projects, including heading up his own movie called The King of Staten Island, has had some high-profile romances over the years. While the 28-year-old is rightfully having the time of his life, it's interesting to look back at which woman were most prominently part of his journey for love.
Davidson's first reported partner was New York native Carly Aquilino, a comedian who he dated from 2014-2015 when he was in his early 20s. The now 31-year-old is best known for her role in Girl Code, a comedy that appeared on MTV, and for hosting Girl Code Live.
US Magazine reports that David's relationship with Aquilino was casual. It appears, however, that there are no hard feelings between them since breaking up as Aquilino starred alongside Davidson in his movie, The King of Staten Island. In an interesting detail about The King of Staten Island, Davidson revealed that he found filming it to be a cleansing experience.
Daughter of comedian, actor, and Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David, Davidson dated Cazzie David for two years, from 2016 to 2018. The 27-year-old is a writer and actor herself, having both co-created and co-starred in Eighty-Sixed, a web series. She also released a collection of essays in 2020 called No One Asked For This. David is set to appear in the upcoming third season of The Umbrella Academy as well.
Interestingly, David told Insider that Davidson broke up with her through text message, after she had asked for a break. He officially ended things the day prior to her learning that he was now dating pop star Ariana Grande.
It was his relationship with Ariana Grande that truly made headlines for Davidson, who started dating her after she appeared on SNL. They started dating in May and announced their engagement by June. However, they called things off by October of the same year, according to CNN.
Grande was inspired by Davidson for her music, however, even penning a song called "Pete Davidson" that appears on her album Sweetener. In the mega-hit song "Thank U, Next," she also references him with the lyrics "Even almost got married, and for Pete I'm so thankful."
Davidson moved on quickly and was soon seen canoodling with actor Kate Beckinsale, which rose eyebrows because of the major age difference – she is 20 years older than him. To that, however, Davidson pointed out in a Weekend Update segment on SNL that no one ever questioned men when they dated women decades younger.
Beckinsale is best known for roles in movies like Pearl Harbor, the Underworld movies, The Aviator, and Total Recall, which rank among Kate Beckinsale's best films. The relationship with Davidson only lasted about four months, however, according to US Weekly. But Beckinsale did recently like an Instagram post responding to questions about why such attractive and famous women fall for Davidson that suggested perhaps they like him simply because he's nice, reports Buzzfeed News.
Next on Davidson's dating list was Margaret Qualley, an actor who he dated for only a few months later the same year. Qualley, the daughter of actor Andie MacDowell, gained recognition for her role in the HBO series The Leftovers along with Fosse/Verdon and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which had plenty of Easter Eggs and references to Tarantino movies. Most recently, she is known for her starring role in the Netflix miniseries Maid.
Their relationship was described as a "whirlwind" in the headlines, with US Weekly noting that they remained friends after the break-up.
Daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, Kaia Gerber was in a relationship with Davidson from October 2019 to January 2020. Gerber, who is 20, is a model and actor who notably won Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 2017. She also worked with her mother on campaigns for Omega watches.
Davidson told People that he was going through a lot at the time of their relationship, and noted her age as being one reason things didn't work out: Gerber was 18 at the time.
Phoebe Dynevor broke onto the scene with her lead role in the hit Netflix series Bridgerton, where she was one of the best characters on Bridgerton. The pair began dating in the summer of 2021. However, they split up after five months, according to Vanity Fair. In addition to Bridgerton, Dynevor, who began acting as a child, appeared in a BBC school drama called Waterloo Road in 2009-2010. She also had a role in the TV Land comedy-drama Younger and a main role in the crime series Snatch, which streamed on Crackle.
It was reportedly their busy work schedules that got in the way of the relationship moving forward, along with the attempt at long-distance dating since Dynevor was shooting Bridgerton in the U.K. while Davidson remained in New York.
Fans were shocked when, following Kim Kardashian's appearance as host of Saturday Night Live, the pair started to be seen together out in public. They were together in an Aladdin-themed sketch on the episode where the pair kissed, but rumors began to spark when they were seen having dinner together and hanging out on several different occasions.
E Online reported in November 2021 that the pair were officially dating, though only casually. Twitter exploded with reactions about Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian dating. "They are really happy," noted a source close to Kardashian, "and seeing where it goes.
